Have an old John Deere grain drill , Van Burnt, with 38" X 6.50 tires, rubber. Wondering what yr this was made?
It is 16 disc and approx. 10 ft. long with all the disc and double hoppers for seed or fert. Is there a serial no. located somewhere?
Also 5 disc John Deere bottom plow with large weight wheel at rear. Number somewhere? Any info on either or approx yr and value appreciated. Thanks, gary

Gary, I'm guessing here because it is hard to visualize sometimes with minimal info, but I think you may have a disc tiller rather than a disc plow. A disc plow has each of the discs mounted on its own individual standard, like a moldboard plow, a disc tiller sometimes called a "one-way disc" or just a "one-way" has the discs mounted on a common shaft like a disc harrow. The reason for the massive weight on the rear wheel is to help fight the side draft since there are no landsides as a moldboard plow has. If I am guessing right, I think you may have a number 250 disc tiller, from the 1930s and 40s. If it is actually a 5 disc, disc plow , I hope someone who knows more will respond, I'd like to know more too. Bob
