purchased a 3 pt. hitched Dearborn Farm Equipment slab saw, manufactured by New Holland Manufacturing Co., Model 22-44. Arbor bearings and wooden feed table have signs of a bright red, the frame is a lovely rust. it has a hinged blade guard that must be pushed up to expose the blade. i'm assuming that some sort of linkage to automatically push up the guard when the feed table is pushed in, is missing. any ideas on the linkage or where i might find a picture. also in an earler post someone suggested round baler belting as drive belt. is that ok? Thanks for any info.

The unit is supposed to use a 5"X 8-1/2ft flat belt. This assumes the drive pulley is 9" in dia.
The photo in the parts breakdown does not show how the blade cover is attached or pivoted. From the breakdown it just lists 2 ea. 7/16-20 x1" bolts with lockwasher and nutsand says guard to mainframe. I do not see any linkage listed for a movable guard.
Good luck
