Is an older drop spreader worth putting new rubber on? I was thinking of using it to seed and fertilize a new lawn, hay, oats, etc. Would I be better off using an endgate seeder?

You might do like I do. Go to the local tire dealer and have some good used tires put on. have had good used tires put on for $10-$15 each. a good option if not runing on the road much.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if I brought home a piece of junk from a recent auction. I bid a buck and nobody raised the bid! It had been shedded it's whole life.

I use my E-Z flow drop spreader every year for lime applications. Works great still, there's very little to go wrong with it.

If it's not rusted out, sure it's worth putting rubber on it. If you try to plant oats with it, you should drag an old spike harrow along behind to mix in the seed.
