Have just bought this mower and it is quite good shape, but there is bracket missing that goes on under the right rear axle of the 2N. Has anyone got a picture of this bracket and some dimensions so I can get one made up. Since this mower was made around 1952 its probably impossible to get this part now.

That is the stabilizer bar bracket, depends on witch model mower you have, some just take the bracket with just the pin for the bar, can buy new universal brackets at any farm supply store, if the other model it is a stabilizer bracket with the pin and a ball socket under the pin, you could weld a replacement lift arm ball on the universal bracket and make if needed, on mine i just have the plain staibilizer bracket, the book says to use the left one as well with the bar, can make you a copy of the book if you want it, email me. Leroy, Many thanks for the info. If the stabilizer arm you refer to is about 1 inch diameter with some kind of large sliding gizzmo and a huge coil spring then I guess thats what it is. I will try local dealers for bracket and would like to take you up on the offer of a copy of the manual. Let me know how much and I will send you a money order. Money order in U.S. dollars seems best since you are probably in U.S. and I am in Canada. Thanks again.

The stabilizer bars that I was refering to are the flat bars 5/16" thick x 2 1/4" wide that you would use with a plow, cultivator, blade, carrying platform to keep anything from swinging, that round bar is not a stabilizer bar but the breakback bar to keep the mower from being busted up if you hit a hidden stump or post, Leroy from Ohio

I have a neighbor near Siler City, NC with 2 or 3 mowers of that type in his back yard. His best one is set by the road with a "for sale" sign on it right now.
