Pat Browning writes a very good article telling of youthful experiences using what we now call our toys. I'm a few years younger and remember what is written very well.
I must also add Dad had a 35 JD A with a #25 2-Row mounted corn picker. This was easy to get stuck as the weight required an extra wheel one each side to support the weight. These wheels were linked to the front tricycle front end for steering control. The Flywheel was not excessable therefore a crank for the tractor was pipe with a steering wheel on one end. This pipe was stuck through the picker to the flywheel and then turned as you normally started any JD. Dad compared starting the tractor as easy compared to steering. Dad's picker was also raised and lowered by hand which required proper spring tensions making it a difficult day to install. Pat thanks for sharing
