I have seen a few, and wonder if they will do the job? I would really like to have one to keep the beavers repairing what I tear apart (or is it reversed). Plus I could use it on a few rocks and ditchs. Appreciate suggestions, type, tractor size needed etc. Bob

They DO do the job. I bought a Kelley B600 for my Zetor last spring for $3995. Best choice I ever made. I use it more than all my other 'toys' combined.

Hi, Bob, a backhoe is one of the handiest pieces of equipment one could buy. The unit I have is a National hoe mounted on a 650G Satoh, also National loader. The hoe has factory mounts for the Satoh, and also three point hitch mounts for a larger tractor. Have left it mounted permanently on the Satoh, never know when I will want to use it! Have dug in all my corral posts, [6X6's], dug in water and sewer lines, [will dig 8' deep, max.] dug in power lines, gas lines, phone lines, power poles, numerous graves at the local cemetary, dug rocks out of the field, enlarged my basement, [that was a big job], and, something I have told very few people about, have even dug spuds with it!!! and the list goes on....once you have one you will wounder how you made out without, and like mine, it doesn't have to be very big! Whatever you get, you will enjoy. Have a gooder, R.E.L.

I have a brand new John Deere 4300 with a JD number 47 backhoe, and it will dig better than you would expect it to. They really are good machines.

I have one on my 30 hp. Kubota and now don't know what I would do without it, It is a real digging machine - not a toy, I have done a lot of digging with it and wouldn't be without it. A heavy tractor is a good idea to keep the machine on the ground though.
