I recently purchased a Buzz saw and need a flat belt to run it off my Farmall H. Where would I look to buy one. I dont know what length I would need to buy because it is my first time using a item that runs off a Flat Belt system. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Ray..

Why don't you just go to your local Case IH dealer and have them make you a belt out of the same stuff they make round bailer belts. They shoulden't be too expensive. A good friend of mine dose that when he blows a belt on his threshing machine. Just make shure too put a twist in the belt so every thing runs right

One of the best places to get flat belts is a farm sale / auction. You'll have to figure out the length you need by measuring the distance between your tractor pulley and saw pulley. A 6 inch wide drive belt would probably be the correct width. If you get one thats too long, its not a problem. You just cut it down to the correct length and splice the ends together using "alligator" lacing. Most farm supply stores and implement dealers sell it. It is just installed with a hammer. Another place to look for belting is the flea markets commonly held at antique tractor shows. You can also buy new, but it ain't cheap!
