Can anyone help?! I have an opportunity to purchase a pull behind pto driven 6 foot (could be 7', but looks like 6') sickle bar mower. It has two rubber tires and the owner thinks it is a David Bradley. I am not an expert, but I have no knowledge of DB building such an implement. Can anyone confirm that they did? I am looking at purchasing it to pull behind a John Deere 50. The owner thinks one of the drive shaft universals may be worn out. Can a guy still get parts for this animal? He is only asking $50.00, so he has my attention, I just want to make sure I can still get parts. Appears to be well built, and supposedly works fine as is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of those DB mowers. I'm trying to get it working and finding parts can be a problem. If it works, as is, it is worth $50. Hope that helps.

We used to have a ground drive 7 foot sickle mower that was a DB. Must have been built in the '50's.

It worked fine. I think we just used Deere or whatever would fit parts for the sections and guards.

David Bradley was a Sears brand and there's an outside chance they might have some information for you, but I bet you would wind up making or adapting parts for it.

If it looks good and you're not going to use it a lot it might be worth $50.

Yes Sears sold a David Bradley thure there catalog in the 50's, Is a collector item more than to use, Do not know who made them , know some Oliver parts fit D. B., as for buying new parts it is just a hit and miss deal with whatever you can find, Sears quite handling parts back in the 70's, would like to have one as a colector myself
