Your H will will pull it all day long as long as you don't put it in the ground, for it to do any good your H will be lucky to pull it in 1st with out over heating unless your working in some really light soil and all the weights in the world won't help pull something to heavy for it, the more weights you have the more horse power it takes to get it going and keep it going.

my H is in pretty good shape and will barely pull my 9 and a half foot tandem disk. I use stop collars on the hyd ram to keep from cutting too deep. My 560 pulls it a heck of a lot better.

Hey paul thanks! Sorry about that. I was thinking of too many things at once. Actually he has a disc and a hare to pull but decided the hare would be easier. Its about a 10 or 12 foot transport hare. Ill be showin my pride all year if she pulls it! Thanks again!

In different regions things are called differently. So, what is a hare? Here, it is a large rabbit.

We have harrows (aka drag) that has teeth on it & floats over the ground, leveling it a bit.

We have disks, which some call disk-harrows.

We have plows, which are the regular soil-turning, share & landside plows.

Some areas have disk-plows, which are a couple big huge disk blades mounted individually to plow with.

Ok, around here a hare is a thing probably what you call harrows. It floats on the ground and has a bunch of teeth that look like a 'C' and digs into the soil and helps level it up a little after plowing. Sorry about that, I just thought they were known as hares. Thanks!

That sounds like a spring tooth to me.....We have a 24 foot that we once used on our farm, but now we have cield cultivators. I dunno...It might pul it...hard to tell, try it I guess. Good Luck

Meant Field Cultivator, not cield cultivator...

And where I am from we called them a "har" pronounced to rhyme with "far". I would hope that H would pull all of the "hare"/"harrow"/"har" you got. I had a little spotted horse that would pull 8 ft all day. It is actually a fairly light load on the tractor. Alot of people pull them behind a disk harrow to smooth in one trip.

Oh, those are something else again, cultimulcher maybe. Around 'here'. :) Not used much any more, they do not handle trash very well.

So, are you going to be disking this, or haring it? I have no idea how much hp a hare requires, never used one, so my advise is only for the actual disk.

An H will pull an 8' disk (hare????) pretty well, might pull a 10', would not pull a 12' here in my soils, esp. when it is freshly plowed. In untouched soybean stubble I'd give a 12 a try, but not in fresh plowed.

But then, nothing to lose if you try it, if it doesn't pull it just lift up & head home - and if it pulls it, you can brag all year. ;)
