I would like to know more about this model baler. Is it a close relative to a 68 and does it work as well? I plan on finally up-dating from my 77 NH to something with more capacity.

Also, I bale some corn fodder up every year with the 77 which has the "cork-screw" type of feed. Does the 69 have this type of feed and will it work on the fodder?

Thanks, TP from Central PA

Yeah the 68 and 69 are very close.

They both have feeder tines instead of the screw type and yes they will bale fodder alright.

TP,
Mine the latter super 69. Over the years It baled everything from rough, overgrown stuff i was trying to clean up to some fine lespideza. Never did bale alfalfa. our ground was not well enough drained. With the manuel you can just about set it to bale anything but firewood. It's not fast by modern standards but about fifteen strokes in deceant hay always made a good 36 inch bale pulling it with a small non live pto tractor. That can get trickey but many a bale have been baled under far less than ideal conditions. I always rathered working at a non constant pto than cranking on a hot wisconsin air cooled. just my preference i guess. A 69 in good shape won't dissapoint you. have fun.

The 77 is actually my land-lords, but they always kept the baler and the 4 cyl. Wisconsin in good shape. I actually never had a problem getting it to run, even when I first started it when it hadn't been running in 10 years.

The only reason I am looking into then 69, at a local equipement jockey's place, is because when I went to bale some bean fodder this past weekend for winter wind-breaks in the barn yard, and after only 9 bales the knife on top the bale chamber broke. I figured after breaking two of these knives in two years and countless hour of first gear driving, I need something with more capacity.

Do you have a operators manual you could possibly e-mail me, I don't feel like paying New Holland $20 some dollars for one I will only read once.

Thanks!!!!! !!!!
