I recently aquired an older disc. I can not find a name anywhere. It is a 6 foot disc with a double gang and is adjustable. The back gang is attached with 4 arms and the hitch is a single ring made for a clevis. On the bearing covers there is a no. "WD 28" and it has wood bushings. Can anyone identify this disc?

Sounds to me like a McCormick/Farmall disc that would have been made around the same time that a Farmall C or H were made. Does it have a sliding notched drawbar to open and close the gangs? If so, I have a similar disc that has seen lots of use. Does anyone know where to get the wood bushings for these? Hope this helps.

It sounds like we have the same disc. Do you still have any paint on yours or any lettering? I would like to clean mine up and restore! The guy I got mine from said his grandfather bought it new. Some years back his grandfather wanted it rebuilt, so he went out and bought all new replacement bearing covers, bushings, spindles, and various other plates. It never got rebuilt and for good reason, this thing is in great shape. So I have all the replacement parts except for the wood bushings. The guy said he know he has them he just has to locate them and I will be getting them soon!

Im sorry I cant help you much on lettering or paint, as my disc has taken on the appearance of "rust red/brown"! But I seem to recall when I was a kid that perhaps it had some blue paint on it. Sorta a medium blue as on Farmall implements. I think my dad got it the same time when he bought his Super "C" new. I think he also got a McCormick hand cranked corn sheller also as a package deal. But back to the disc, thats about all I can give you at this time. If I find out more, I will try to let you know. If you know where I can find more wooden bushings, let me know. Thanks, and good luck.
