I've read a lot about these, and they seem pretty useful. But, I can find any pictures of one. Does anyone have any photos or diagrams of how to build one?

Thanks,

I built mine out of wood. I had some short 2 x 8 treated lumber left from the deck and a couple of 4 x 4s. I had the local machine shop make the metal 3 pt frame that I attached to the box. I didn't need forks so just have a box, but it suits my needs. Good luck.

have you seen the one that looks like a backward facing loader bucket or scoop? can't remember the name.

I use my carry all probably more than any other single device I own for the tractor. I built mine because of some needs I wanted to use it for. I built it so the forks fold up and with a bungee cord are against the frame and then you can get to the 2" reciever that I welded on and use it for moving trailers. I have horses and hauling feed down to the barn and hooking up to the shavings trailer is done more than anything else. This puppy can go from forks to trailer hitch in 5 seconds. Also put a 2 5/16ths ball on the top of the frame to move gooseneck trailers around when needed and the forks are detachable so they can be put on the top of the frame and used as a platform at about 5 ft. I had no plans I just kept circling thinking about what did I do with the tractor that could be accomodated in this one piece of equipment. If you just want something to haul a little firewood around then go down to tractor supply and get a cheap one.

Well, it'll do a little more than haul firewood. It needs to hold the volume equivalent of a 5 foot by 5 foot by 6 inch deep trailer, but only be 2 foot deep or less, and has to have removeable walls, and have forks, so I can use it as a bale mover (slide under 3 or 4 square bales), or carry shipping pallets.

Well then a cheap one with you building a box that the forks slide under sounds like it will do what you want. I wanted mine to do alot more for me.

unless you have the steel laying around,or you really want something to do, I'd go down to central tractor,or equivalent, and buy one when there on sale,I think I paid under $50 dollars for mine.

Just finished building mine about 2 weeks ago.It is 6' wide 3'deep and 3'tall. I bought the main frame for $45.00 and by the time i built the box out of 1 1/2 x 3/16 angle and bought the treated 2x6`s and carriage bolts,i ended up having about $200.00 total in it not counting the welding rods and paint. Sure is handy for cutting firewood. It was money well spent.
