I'm a tractor rookie and have a 1510 Ford with a
3 point lift and shredder. My tractor's at my place a couple hundred miles away from my home.

QUESTION: I want to buy some simple implements
ie. tandem disk lister (plow) planter

I have access to implement dealers near by. What descriptions, dimensions, etc. are correct when talking implements for a 1510? To farm a 7 acre garden, am I thinking the right stuff? What's the right price for the used implements?

The tractor tips site gives the 1510 as having 20 HP PTO and 16 HP drawbar.

This is not too far different from an 8N.

I have an 8N and it pulls a 2 bottom 14 inch moldboard plow. If your soil is not hard with a lot of rocks and clay, this should work.

I pull a 7 foot tandem disk but 6 might be more appropriate.

I have an old 2 row covington planter and cultivator I use but it I were out looking and not going to do an awful lot of acreage, I might have gone the one row route. Your tractor would have handled a 2 row though without trouble.

Used prices vary greatly but you should be able to find all for 2-300 price range each around these parts.

A real of thunb on the plow is 15 HP per each 16 bottom plow I am told.

On the disk, look for one with sealed bearings, ie no grease fittings if you can. If you go the other route, make sure you own a grease gun and use it with 3-4 squirts before each use.

I'm sure it does.

The lift category is generally tied to the tractor HP. I also have a 53 HP Massey and it has either or balls, I OR II.

I have nver seen any make of tractor in your HP range that had a cat II.
