does a gehl #1475 make corn stalk bales? or isn't that the kind to get. and what would be the best one for them then? is there modifications to do stalks or what? thanks for any info.

I used to work for Gehl.. THey make good equipment. We (engineering) used to have some out on loan for testing ect. and they would get stalks through them in the fall. See if your dealer(s) have one you can try/demo.

My neighbor used his 1470 for tralks. Made a few for me. He suggested keeping the windrows light.
