IHC corn picker?

a guy i know recently bought a small acreage farm. he farms with his dad and loves jd and he was going to cut this machine up for scrap metal. i talked him out of it and he said i could have it. well it seems to be newer the part where the cron comes out is white and the rest is red. decals are still visible though it nees a little paint. its all there and looks like it works.anybody familar with these?is it rare? its rather large but i am going to trey and run it with and h. good or bad idea? just looking for some info on this before i bring her home.also anyone know where i could get a cheap set of field tire chains for an h?

Is it a 1 row or a 2 row? Pulltype or mounted? If it's a 1-row pull-type, dollars to donuts it's a 1-PR. Built from 1951-1974. Rare? no, since 14,000 of them were built! A worthwhile project to get it running? Yes. They were decent pickers, according to some former owners I know.
