I'm in the market for a small one row planter for my cub. Since I don't have any experiance with one I don't know what I need. The Cole units seem about right and the ones I have seen could easily be converted to one point fasthitch. The problem is they never seem to come with all the plates and I don't have the knowledge to identify what is still in production or if parts are available in the aftermarket. Does anyone know of a web site or someplace to aquire the knowledge of what to purchase and what to leave at the farm sale. Thank you and have a safe and happy holiday, Bob

You can find Cole manufacturing alive and well at the website below. These Cole's have been used on fast hitch for years. Basically if it says Cole on it bring it home from the sale. I have just gone through some research on planters and I have been very impressed by Cole's availability of parts and plates as compared to others. Powell bought out Cole and few years back but has maintained a wonderful support service.

Call Stevens Ag Parts at 1-800-333-9143. Their catalog shows Cole and Burch planters and parts for Cole, Burch, and Covington planters. The diagrams are very good and they have many parts for sale.

Stevens also many tractor and tillage parts. Ask for a catalog.

I've got a set of the 12MX 2 row type and a Planet Jr 1 row. They are both very good planters.

Powell have plenty of parts for both. The Planet Jr does'nt use a seed plate you just adjust the variable plate for all seed.

The plates for the 12MX cost me around $18 per set including shipping. If you need more than one set they will include it into 1 shipping cost.

They will also mail you a new operator's manual for free if you call or email them for it.
