Has anyone got an idea for extending or replacing the mounting pins on a 2 bottom plow other than cutting them off flush and welding a new longer pin on, that's all I have come up with and I'm not too keen on a butt weld at a high pressure point. I aquired a Ferguson AO-14 2 bottom plow for my '51 8N at a price that couldn't be refused, but the mounting pins are not long enough to use the stabilizer bars. I've seen several discussions here about use or non-use of stabilizers for plowing and I would prefer to use them.
TIA,
Lee

Don't do anything to your plow hitch points..You are not supposed to use stabilizer bars on a plow. the plow is naturally selfaligning once you have set up the angle..Git the Feguson Plow Manual which is one of the best how to primers on plowing and it also shows how to set the Ferguson plows up. You can get a copy from the N-Newsletter. Listed as the "Instruction Plow Book".
Good Luck

Lee; I use a set of Ferguson AO-12's behind my 2600 Ford and use a stabilizer bar on the right hand side. I used a chain saw file to open up the lynch pin hole on that side enough to use a 1/8 pin to hold the arm and bar on. Did it 5-6 years ago and havn't had a problem. Good luck . Roy
