I have an opportunity to pickup an IH435 at $300.
I know nothing about this model of baler.
Are the IH 435's any good?
What range or horse power is necessary? i.e 9n
Are parts easy to come by?
Are parts comparible in price to JD or NH?
Has anyone ever owned one?
Thanks,
DJP

My neighbor has an IH 445, the next size up from the 435 (actually these balers were made by New Idea for IH). Works OK. Parts are available at any CaseIH dealer. Plunger speed is a little slower on these balers than on contemporary NH and JD machines, giving a few big slices per bale instead of several smaller ones, which can result in ragged-looking bales in heavy hay. A 435 may be a little much for a 9N. $300 is cheap if it's in good working order. A decent 435 without thrower will bring $1000 more than that where I live, with thrower $1500 more.

Never had any experience with one of these balers, but seems like a good price if it is in good shape!
