Does any one know where I can find a ledger plate tool to replace the rivits? on sickle bars.

Not quite sure what you're talking about. When I replaced the ledger plates on my bar, I got flathead rivets with the plates, set them in the guard, laid 'em on an anvil and rounded the other end over with a ballpein hammer.

I think he means a special purpose anvil. It has two pins with a notch between them. The guard fits down into the notch, and you can drive the old rivit out withou chasing the guard all over th shop. When you install the new plate, you set the head of the rivit on one of the pins to back it up and head it over on the bottom of the guard. Another type also had a long groove to support the sickle bar for removing and replacing sections.

These used to be available at machinery dealers and farm stores, but I haven't seen them for a while. And I am NOT going to let mine go. Best bet is probably a "wanted" ad.

Oh, yeah, plumb fergot about those things. Got one, and he can have it cheap. As little as I use my sickle mower, it's easier for me to do it by hand.
