Bob:
The 348 is the currant production, HEAVY DUTY, 14x18 "small square" baler. There is also a "468" baler which is the 16x18 "small square" baler which would be similar but still heavier duty. A 348, being still currant production and being the heavy duty model to boot shouldn't be anywhere near being worn out enough to worry over. They are very good balers and the 348 would be the baler for someone who is baling a large acreage of hay---not the hobby farmer with 20 acres or so. It is possible, I suppose to find an early one, which has been allowed to become out of adjustment, or which needs servicing for it's knotters or something, but Deere balers are nearly indestructable---just look at all of the 1950s vintage 14Ts STILL out there baling hay. For a "bluebook" price estimate, try Link .
