I have a front unloading pto drive manure spreader. It is not an Allis Chalmers. I just accquired a piece of literature on a Galloway spreader that looks almost identical to the one I have except the front cover and hitch are different. The Galloway spreaders were also convertable to use as a small trailer by putting on a different bed to make the sides taller. The literature says they were made in Waterloo Iowa, but does not give a date. Does anyone know of this company and how many different models were made? Thanks.

I just purchased a Galloway manure spreader. This one is also yellow. Pretty tough shape. Do you have any part numbers so I can validate mine as a Galloway?

Yup, they were made right down the street from John Deere. We had a spreader and an elevator made by Galloway in the early 50's. The spreader was REALLY heavy on the front. I think Galloway eventually went out of business. I couldn't believe I saw the name Galloway in your post, it's been years since I saw that name. We lived NE of Waterloo at the time.

Do you remember what color it was? The other post I received was yellow, but was there any other color on it? How expensive were they? The model in the brochure is a little different than the one I have and use. Thanks for the info.

It was trimmed with black. Like the tongue and metal parts. I think the box was made of plywood.

Sorry, it was really old and the paint was gone. The tin cover on the front was just rust colored and the wood had no color that I remember.

The Galloway spreaders were made in about 1950. I only know of one model, however they may of made two. They were painted yellow. The company also made elevaters. They were located in the same area as J D in Waterloo Ia.
