Bought a pair of 3 pt discs for my 2N today.
One is by Love Tractor Inc. and the other a Farm Tools Inc. One is a 7' the other a 7 1/2'
Got a couple of questions if someone has the time.
First will my 2N pull and lift them OK?
Second on both machines the bearings are pretty well worn out.
The old guy I bought them from said they came from the factory with wooden, usually maple, bearings.
Is that true. Or did he catch me on that one?
I didn't pay that much for the pair... I could make new wooden bearings pretty easy. Would teflon work better than wood? Or could a guy even put some cheap pillow blocks there? He gave me a stack of extra discs too.
Anyone own a disc like these? Been thinking I'll fix at least one of them and get rid of the other.
What should I do?

Thanks to all who responded.
Jeepers this bearing stuff is terribly expensive.
I'm thinking I might have to grab the torch and welder and fabricate some sort of new bearings for this thing. Especially since the spools are pretty well shot too. Thanks again.

Wood bearings where very common in the day. Keep them cleaned and lubed, they will last a very long time. Heck, while I'll was in the Navy, they used lithium vitea, a real hard imported wood for the strut bearings on the propeller shafts. Your lift shouldn't have to much of a problem lifting the disc, but you may need a little more weight on the front.

Hard wood works fine if you make new ones melt paraffin wax and float the new bearings this makes them last longer and run smother.

Wooden bearings are not uncommon on older machines- make them out of hardwood- oak, maple, etc. and soak them in oil. Pour oil on them during use. Bronze bushings will not last unless they are lubricated regularly. Wood is a cheaper and better alternative.

Never used a 2N but the disc I have was use by my father in law on a 8N. It had no problem. It was a heavy 7 footer. About the bushings. I think I would make some bronse bushings if you are going to use the disk. If possable put a grease sirket (spelling) and grove the bushing. Grease is alot cheeper then bushings.
