i posted a day or so ago in the farmall board and recieved no replies about a binder an aquantince has. It is the pull type, like a model M 4 i think, only no pto shaft. Im not sure and i can not find very much info on these. It is complete, minus a piece of wood here or there, and has been sheded for years. what should i be willing to pay, since he doesn't remember what he paid and i haven't a clue. I do not want to jip him, being a good friend of mine, so all help is appreciated. thanks guys, adam

Binders have some value in areas where people still use them. The Amish in my area still use them and will pay a few dollars for them. I don't really know how much though. Is it a grain binder or a corn binder?

I walked away when the bidding went over $700.00 for one at an Amish auction, in SW NY. All the horse drawn stuff went high. A hay loader went for $1600.00

It's really worth whatever you and your friend agree to, but if you buy it, don't expect to be able to sell it again. It wouldn't have much, if any, market value.

There aren't many spare parts around.
They don't show well in a pile of white gravel in the front yard.
They don't show well in transport mode in parades.
To demonstrate takes a few acres of ripe oats or wheat.
I think they developed into the most ingenious, reliable and labor saving farm machine, bar none.
And, what I think is only one person's opinion! PS:
does it have the front "trucks" for taking the load off the horses collars? and the transport wheels?
