I'm looking at a 241 IH round baler and was wondering what you all thought about them. Would a Farmall M pull it?Thanks Ralph

Was the 241 the one with narrow belts? (4inch). Wider belt balers work better than narrow. Also check how well protected the bearings are on the shafts. Rollers should extend out to the side of the baler, with the bearings either internalized or outside of the side frame, away from hay contact. Exposed bearings start baler fires when they wear out. Older balers generally had that poorer design. Live pto is a big plus with round balers.

We use an IH round baler sometimes, (Belongs to a neighbor) it has had a huge amount of bales through it with little care so it breaks a lot but works good when it gets fixed, we use a JD 820 diesel on it and that tractor just idles along with it, I think my M would run it but the engine is new and I think it is putting out more than the original hp. you would have to try it out and see, live hydraulics would be a big help.
