My family owns a 350+ acre piece of hunting land in South GA that has never been worked in any way. My dream upon graduating college is to enjoy this property by taking care of it and restoring its natural beauty. It is in need of road grading and conditioning as well as growth containment and treatment. If anyone could PLEASE help my by suggesting which tractor/ATV and attachments/implements would be advisable to someone never having worked with such equipment. I plan to purchase within the next 6 months to begin in the fall. Thanks.

I have to agree with BB on all the implements listed. I have 70 acres of wooded property in central Texas that I maintain as wildlife habitat. I started with an 8N tractor and now have a 36 hp diesel. Both do quite well but the diesel is much easier to work with. I did however opt for a 5 foot medium duty cutter over the 6 foot regular or light duty cutter simply because it is rated to cut 2" material. The reason for the 5 foot model is the weight of the unit. The 6 foot medium duty cutters were too heavy for my tractor. I work my food plots with a single row disk but will upgrade to a double soon.

One implement I modified was my 6 foot blade. Since the blade could be removed, I had an 18" grubbing hoe build to attach to the blade frame just like the blade. I use this for cutting (grubbing) saplings below ground level in areas where I don't want to leave stobs from the mowing machine.

Good luck with your upcomming labor of love, you will enjoy every minute of it.

I assume you do not intend to do any major crops other than maybe small plots for deer browse.
I would recommend a compact tractor in the 30 HP range. Compacts are smaller and can manuever better in tight places. I won't state a brand name as everyone has their preferences and all the major names are good. New is nice. Used is often much cheaper if you can find a good used one.
Implements; front end loader, 6' rotary cutter, back blade, box blade, plow and/or disc and/or tiller if you intend to maintain deer food plots. Probably a tooth bar for the FEL for clearing small trees/brush. Log splitter for firewood. Post hole digger if you intend to do any fencing. The wish list goes on and on.
