Anybody ever heard of or seen a 1 or 2 row hooded sprayer?

Using roundup to kill off nut grass coming up between rows. Having to spray by hand....very carefully, using an inverted styrofoam cooler as a hood with a pump up wand sprayer mounted in the bottom....really the top. It works pretty good, it's just slow and tedious. I've got this crazy idea to make a sheet metal hood with a spray nozzle in the top of it, and mount it on the rear of my boom sprayer so I can spray with my tractor. I've seen professionally made hooded sprayers like this, but there all a half mile wide and cost a million dollars. Anybody ever thought about this or have any ideas or know who sells something similar, or made something similar? Perhaps this contraption could take the place of a cultivator? When I cultivate, I bring up more weed and grass seed. When I spray roundup, it seems I don't have as many weeds and grass come back. Maybe I've been out in the sun too much??? Thanks for any ideas.....Gary

No reason why you can't make your own. Ask the manufacturer for some literature on it and use the specs they disclose to make yours. I have a habit of collecting literature on items I'm not currently interested in- it makes a great reference library for years down the road when I might be able to afford buying a used one.
