The 430 is a great baler as long as they have what IH called the new style knotters. I would recognize them if I saw them but can't describe them as it's been a while since I've seen them. We bought a new 430 in about 1972. I came with the old style knotters (same as the IH #47) and it didn't tie worth a darn. The dealer finally replaced the knotters with the new style and we custom baled 10,000 bales a year with a WD AC in front. My dad still has the baler but only uses it for a couple hundred bales a year now. It still ties great, forms an even bale and eats alot of hay.
