I run mine with an Oliver 1600, 60 hp, with no problems on slightly rolling ground. My one piece of advice to you is to make sure your hay is dry before you start baling, or you'll be spending all of your time unwrapping hay from the feed rollers.

Horsepower should be about 70hp. I have pulled a 1560 Massey Baler with my 3020 John Deere and am now pulling my 530 Deere baler with my 3020. I am hoping to get a little bit larger tractor to pull it with this year. Ideally, in my opinion if you had around 90horses you would be doing fine. I have pulled the 530 with a 4430 I had but its really too much tractor for what you are doing. If you need a owners manual for a 510, I do have the manual for the early and later serial numbers. Just let me know!

Do you still have a manual for the 510 JD baler? If so, what do you want for it? Thanks, Jim

I pull mine with a 1355 moline. Has enough power to run half a dozen of those green things.
