What ever happened to the Stack Hand? I bought one new in '83 and thought that was the best machine since the tractor. I could put up hay by myself really fast with no twine and it stored well.

i never used one and been thinking about one for my new farm. i intend to pull it with a D-17 allis. i thought they would be perfect too. big round balers and the ablility to load and move round bales killed the stackhands.to be able to put up cornstalks for bedding and hay and not have to deal with help ,knotters, twisters, etc seems to be the perfect way to me too. and to be able to put up toungh hay and just not pack it tight seems to be a great way to go. some tell me they think there is always mold in round bales. i think it might be just dust but could very well be. i've been told they [round bales] dont "breath" as good as small square bales.at least one catalog thatsells after m,arket farm parts sti8ll sells the chains for stack hands
