Can anybody tell me about this? It has an 18" blade, and "Model 185" in the casting. There are remnants of red paint on it - maybe international or massey?

I assume this is part of a PTO driven firewood saw, but I don't recognize the drive system, and don't see how it would mount.

Any info you can provide on this will be welcome.

Definatly a brush saw for a Gravely walk behind. It mounts right in the front housing where the front mower would go.There was also supposed to be a guard for the rear of the blade also. Dad and I cleared 10 acres with one of these before he got his Ferguson tractor and bush hog.

It looks like it came from a Gravley garden tractor.

I have a right-angle drive identical to that one. The feller I got it from sez it came off a Snapper (I think) walk-behind tractor, something like the old David Bradleys.

I'd guess what you have is from the same sort of thing, set up to cut saplings.

I believe that would be set up so the blade was parallel to the ground, like the new DR brush mowers ya see on TV.
