I'm in the market for my first harrow and looking for a 6 foot double disk to use on a 6 acre farm. It will be pulled by an 8N. My question is when I go to look at used harrows for sale what types of things should I look for or inpsect closely? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Look for worn worn bearings and the size and condition of the disc blades. Also look for rewelded frames.

And look for bent axles, bent, broken or welded bearing mounts, bolt holes worn oblong. Also check to see if the axles turn. My neighbors bought a disk that had set so long outside, the bearings had frozen up.
