A couple 214WS balers are coming up for auction this weekend. Are these any good? Would like to hear good and bad. Supposed to be in good working order. What's a fair price? Thanks.

The baler is a good one in our area. I have a 214W which is similer except ror twisting wire. Mine takes 4 50# spools instead of 2 100# spools. When I broke right twister frame last year could not get parts anymore but dealer said they could still get parts for 224 & 24's. Parts are a bit pricey though. They sold a 224 ws last month at auction for $1050.

I know many guys think John Deere knotters are good, but I have had a lot of personal experience with them, and it hasn't been good. These balers are old so everything depends on how well maintained they are. Even though I am not a fan of John Deere knotters, I think IH and New Holland are both better, I would take a chance if you could get a good price on it and it looked well maintained. I wouldn't go over $300 for one, and that would be tops.
