I bought a basket case Hopto truck mounted backhoe, about 3-4 years ago. It runs great! It runs off of the truck pto,it could be a little faster, but it's strong. When I got it, the former owner had used used engine oil, in the hydrulics. I have replaced the pump, and one cylinder, and had 2 rebuilt. I got some new bucket teeth, this summer. I mounted the unit on the butt end of the heavy truck chassis, like it was before I got it. I should have mounted it on top of the truck frame, over the duel wheels. It [was] real back heavy, now I have an 8 foot fisher snow plow in front, with up and down pressure. Oh yea a concrete weight on board also. The truck is powered by a ford 232? straight 6 1954 vintage, runs great no smoke or nocks. I have see 2 others, both gone now. I have some pics, don't know if I can send will try.

I have a Warner & Swasey Hopto Digger model 200 SPR-4. It is a rubber tired 4wd excavator. It worked fine until recently the shaft that powers the hydraulic pump went bad- the teeth on gears that mesh with the chains are worn. Anyway, do you know anywhere to get these obsolete parts? I have a manual with Warner Swasey part numbers shown. Fred in PA
