Anybody out there with experience and recommendations for the Hesston 530 round baler?

Whats the difference between the 530 and the 5530?

Thanks in advance for your input.

5530 is a newer version I believe.I have had a 530 for 10-12 yrs.We got itwhen the old 14T became just to cantkerous and help scarse aswell as unreliable.Have two friends who each have one.Great for the one man operation. They say that you can run them with as little as 30hp but becase of our hills all of us have always used bigger tractors (50-60 hp).The bales are 500# can easily be rolled.I use a spike on a loader,a 3pt spike(on even a 9N),and a 8N with a loader to move load and stack the bales depending on what piece of equipment is aviable.Stacking hem under cover does help but I've seen ones kept outside devoured well too.I've fed them to cows and hores with out a problem.Horse people like themfor there paddocks-always more horses than land:)As for stall feeding you can just cut the twine and unwrap what you need fine on a small scale but square bales are more efficant if your doing a # of animals in stalls. The dealer I bought mine from had horses that were kept in a run in shed so a round bale worked well.Good machine the eltric wrapper is a nice option.Jim Ct

Thanks for the info. Mine is often a 1 man operation so the 5/600 pound bale size is probably what I need.
