I just purchaged a reconditioned John deere discbine[1350] My question is how do I know if and when the cutterbar is full of oil? Short of draining it and putting in new oil. How do I know that the right amount is there? They say to over fill is not a good thing. Thanks for any comments in advance
Mike

Try looking for a dipstick (a really short one)on the back side of the cutter bar. My friend has a New Holland and it has a dipstick behind the second or third disc. Maybe dipstick is not the right word, more like a dipplug!!

hi mike a 1350 mo co will not have a level plug or dipstick as the cutterbar is to be drained empty and a specific amount of oil filled in the cutterbar i think it is about 1litre of oil? best to check with local jd dealer if overfilled the cutterbar will overheat also use correct grade of oil as this is important to? i ran these mowers for many years with litle problems i beleive due to these two important factors any queries e mail me good luck
