Anyone out there have any good ideas for a counter balance weight to put on my 3 pt hitch so I can get more traction when I am using my loader?? I have thought of using a 55 gallon drum or making a cement weight that I can just hook on my 3 pt hitch when I need it. Anyone have any Ideas or plans that they have tried and works?? any and all will be appreciated.

I use 4 Farmall model A wheel weights. They are 150 lbs each. I but on drawbar, with 2 clevis's and a chain to hold in place, livt to desired height and put the limiter chains from the toplink to hold in place, then chain the arms down so I can use the loader(Sauder model D). Amazing how much different the tractor steers now and the better traction on the rears...
What is nice is I use them also to add weight to the disc, and the box blade when needed..only one tho...they are removeable and store them between the garage doors where they are readily available.
The drawbar is then usable for some other use.ie, as a drawbar, prybar, hammer, perswadeing the liftarms on the implement lift pins...etc..
Good luck
