I was looking at tractors yesterday when I ran across an old 220 Case baler sitting on the back of a dealers lot. It was a trade in on a newer baler. The owner broke a needle, and needed a baler quicker than he could fix it. It is in pretty good cosmetic shape for a baler that old, and it comes with a new set of needles. The owner baled over 1500 bales with it this season before the breakdown. I know Case tractors but have never used a Case baler before. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 200 with a bale launcher. The baler itself has done a good job for me if I use good dry twin that hasn't gotten wet. The bale launcher broke a spring that resets the clutch for the launcher. Looks like alot of work to replace with an original spring as it's coiled around a shaft. So I hooked a piece of roller chain around the shaft and a straight coil spring on the other end hooked under the baler. Works as good as new now. This is my back up baler to my JD 336.

I have a 330 and it is a fine baler . Everyone warned me not to get it but it came in a package deal . I`ve always been a NH man and was suprised with the case , it dose a good job . I may have the one good one I dont know . If this baler is not operating you may want to stay away from it , somthing was the cause of the breakdown and if your not a baler man you may spend alot of time cussin and not much time balin . It aint no fun workin on a baler out in the hot sun !!!!

The baler got out of time causing the needle to break. These balers, are supposed to be easy to reset,I've just never done it, and never used a Case at all. It's just for show but I want it to work.
Thanks
Barry

Most of them are junk.

Look for a good used New Holland or John Deere baler.

I'm not looking for a baler to use hard, I just want it to work. My brother has a good New Holland square baler, but round bales are about all we ever put up. I want it to go with my Case tractors so I can demonstrate a Case rig at the shows.
Thanks,
Barry

I'm running a 133 now, and with the amount of trouble I've been having I'd guess I know it pretty good. I have no idea how close it is to the 220 though. Might that dealer have a line on the knotters for mine? I need at least one for a spare do to unmentioned circumstances. Loren

The 133 is older than the 220, being built in 1957,& 58. The 220 wasn't built until 1965, and later. The dealer I'm working with isn't a factory dealer, he only has the needles because the farmer who traded in the baler found them later and brought them in. Sorry
