I'm looking for the main spring Ford # 242103. My NH dealer said he can no longer order this. Anybody know another resource or what to use in its place. These mowers were very popular and built between 1955 through 1979.

I've got a 515, and so far my NH dealer has been able to get everything for it I've needed (knock wood). *But* on some of my other old equipment, he hasn't. What he has done in those cases is look up the specs (sizes etc) and find me something similar that I've been able to make work. He makes a call to his technical support department and gets a faxed measured drawing, usually same day. If your dealer does this, I suspect you can find a similar spring that'll work--doesn't look too special to me!

An alternative would be to look for a junker 515 somewhere and buy it for parts.

good luck,
Tom
