I just bought my first hay rake an old David Bradley looks well built. Has a shift lever to take it out of gear when hauling. 2 large wheels in the from and 2 smaller ones in the back. I have gotten lots of free advise and most say New holland rake But for 100 I couldn't resist.

My wife's uncle who recently retired from farming and sold most of his ground (millionaire now), has two David Bradley rakes that he pulled out of weed patches and complete rebuilt. He figures he spent close to 500 hours on one of them....replaced every nut, bolt and bearing. He did it because they do such a good job. He claimed they did a better job than anything else he had that was newer. Plus, he really likes rebuilding stuff like that.

Bob,

If it works for a C note you can't go wrong. Too bad it's not horse drawn. :-)

My 2 bits worth,
