Anyone know who made the Ford 535 mower conditioner? I'll need proof because this one is worth coffee and a sweetroll. Thanks

The 535 is the same as a Massey Ferguson 81 Haytender. The MF 81 is the same as the New Idea 290. So it's really a New Idea.

But how can I prove it?
Do the parts from the New Idea fit the 535?

ok thanks to you I have some proof. Now the obvious question, (at least to me), is which one came first? The MF or the New Idea. Don't laugh too loud I'm just a city boy transplant trying to make conversation at the coffee stop. What it tells me is I might be able to visit my local New Idea dealer for a parts listing since it needs a jackshaft. Thanks again

New Idea built the 290 under its own name first, and after a year or so began to supply blue ones with the right decals to Ford and red ones with the right decals to MF.
