third party image

I thought a few folks in here might be interested in seeing a picture from the Progressive Horse Farming Show that was held 2 weeks ago at Arcola, Ill. This isn't my idea of how to farm with horses but to each their own I guess. :-)

My 2 bits worth,

Old Iron

Hey Old Iron---> Is that the 2nd cutting they are baling there? I live about 1 hour south of chicago and some are on the 2nd cutting, looks like I will be baling for my grandfather soon, sure hope it cools off! Last time I baled it was 115+ in the shed I was un-loading in,,, A bit warm but an aluminum shed in full sun....Anyways-Brad

Great picture. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a horseman and an old iron man. I'd like to have some comments from anyone using the bale basket wagon like the one shown in your picture. I've looked these wagons over several times and like the design and the ability for one man/woman to do it all. I'm close to buying a couple, but new ones are expensive for part time farmers.

Thanks for the pic!

I'd eventually like to farm at least part of the time with mules, but I'm not smart enough. Wife and I might eventually go to one of those live-in places that teaches you hitching and driving over a week, but I guess that's a long way off. Til then, it's my old 8N and our own muscle power.

Tom

Thanks for sharing the picture. I'm a horse freak and we have lots of Amish neighbors who farm soley with horses or mules.
