The chute needs to end within inches of the front of the trailer or wagon, so that if the stacker is on top of the pile and driver doesn't slow down, a bale coming off the chute will land on the trailer, not fall on thr ground in front of it, to get crushed.

Stacker needs an old-fashioned hay hook (bale hook) to hook and pull bale off chute.

Chute needs to adjust from a low angle (when wagon/trailer is almost empty) to a steep upward angle so stacker can lean down from top of stack, hook bale and pull it upwards. Otherwise there's no way to stack the front third of the wagon. We fastened a chain from the rear of the chute (on the side) to a point high up on the rear of the baler, with a "keyhole" slot that chain links could catch into, for infinite adjustability.

Tongue of trailer/wagon needs to be long enough that raised chute doesn't take too high an angle so it doesn't crimp or jam bale coming out as it turns upward; and short enough that a bale coming off the chute during a turn doesn't drop onto the ground, out of reach of the stacker.

Hitch is usually around the end of the chute, if it sticks out you will probably hit something when backing up. Consider a safety rail on the front of the wagon, you don't want your helper to fall off when picking up a bale.

Just long enough to get the bale on the trailer without interfering with turning the baler- less than a foot or so above the trailer should work.
