I was wondering how much horsepower it would take to pull a 720 oliver baler in thick Missouri Fescue. I have a enough horses with my 1850 Ollie but was thinking of using my Dads tractor to bale over at his place, but I don't think it will be enough. He has a little D-14 Allis. I'm guessing it's probably 35 hp. What do you all think?

Just finished putting up almost 700 bales of tough grassy hay. Used a NH 628 Hayliner and pulled the wagon behind. Guess what I pulled it with - a 1949 John Deere B. Over 50 years old, and still can play with the big boys! Was able to pull in third gear, but rain in second because fields were rough, and I wanted the bales packed tightly! WOW!

Used to pull a 620 oliver with a IH 300 with wagon behind. Had no problems, if you have a thrower it could be to much for this tractor, but if you are just dropping bales you'll be fine.
