Does anyone have any first hand experience with a Case 200 bailer? I can get one for free that is complete with new needles. The needles need to be timed but I think I can buy a book from the local Case dealer. Thanks in advance, Tom/Idaho

I just retired my Case 200. I had a miserable time with it this year and finally gave up and bought an NH. Currently mine sits (out of time also). I'll probably get it back in time and attempt to sell it for a couple hundred bucks. It used to take about 50 bales to get it working right and then it would miss every 5th bale or so. Very frustrating. Sometimes free is not a very good price! Scrap value is quite low right now. Good luck.

Would you tell me in what manner it would miss? Curious if it's the same problem I've seemingly cured on my 133 Case.

Usually it would only tie one side. However it often would tie the knot and by the time the bale hit the ground they would no longer be tied. I also had experience with the twine breaking about 2 inches from the knot.

They are a good baler. Ran one when I was a kid. The machine is a little light for custom work, but done a great job otherwise. I recall we had a little trouble with the neopreme washers wearing out on the fingers on the feeder head, but they were cheap and easy to replace. For free you can't go wrong.
