How much does a disc weigh?

Specifically, or generally I guess, an 8-10'er that I could pull behind my Super M.
I'm having a LOUSY time trying to find one around my farm already so I figure I'll have to range farther afield and at that point I'll need a trailer.
I'm already assuming my little snowmobile trailer won't cut it.
So how much trailer do I need?

Ludwig -
I got a 10' tandem axle transport disk (IH #37). Not sure of the weight but guessing about 1200 lbs.

I live in N. FL but bought disk from MN. Cost approx. $200 to haul to my door. For me it was cheaper to buy it, pay for hauling then to a) buy new one locally
b) buy it and I haul it (round trip)
Just another consideration.

Find the disc and then you can decide how to transport. Unless you are in the market for a trailer that is. U-Haul rents trailers fairly cheap for local usage especially during the week. After you find the disc you want you can decide if it can be towed or if it needs to be hauled.

Good point Jerry, thats the best idea I've heard yet.
My snowmobile trailer is good up to about 1000# but it sounds like the amount of disc I want is going to be quite a bit more.
I doubt that it'll be a local run, I live 450 miles from the farm so if I find one around here it'll be a pretty big haul, hopefully I'll find one closer to.

Anybody's got an 8-10' disc anywhere near Caribou, Maine shoot me an email raymond@gis.net

Last time I dealt with UHaul if you brought it back to the same store you got it from it was considered local even if it was a couple of days later. LOL You never know you might buy it from a person that has a trailer and will let you borrow it. Good luck and let us know what happens

Just pull it behind a pick up truck, about 35 mph it`s slow but it will get it home.

I have a 10' JD KBA transport disk that weighs around 2000 pounds. I have a 10' Taylor-Way transport disk that weighs around 4500 pounds. They're the same width, but they sure don't pull the same!

Got a MF 3pt hitch disk that I pull with a Farmall 200. Man does that make the front of that tractor light! Gotta weigh close to 1000#. Have hauled it on a converted 3 place motorcycle trailer. (converted to a flatbed) But it has automotive wheels and heavy bearings - you may be pushing yer luck with a snomo trailer.
