I posted a picture of a horse drawn implement in the implement photos. We always called it a "go-devil" but I am not sure who made it or what the proper name of it is. To my knowledge it was pulled between the rows of a plowed field and the rider would drop seed between the runners and the trailing disks would fold the dirt back over the seed. The rider would adjust the height of the disks along with the tilt of the disks. Does anyone have any other information about it?

My neighbor has a restored one in his yard. These are referred to here as a Monitor. What happens is a lister is used to plant with. The monitor is used once the corn gets up there a few inches. You pull it with a team of horses to dam some more dirt onto the corn and kind of cultivate the row. My grandfather used one for many years. Listing row crops hasn't been done for a long time. The metal parts are basically just a frame for the seat and the 3 disks on each side. The wood part is basically the foot rest area and perhaps the tongue. They aren't very complicated.
