we are cleaning out our tree row. we have 3 mccormick deering horse drawn mowers no7 's two on iron one on rotted rubber. you didnt talk about value on the number 7's. more or less than the 9's? rubber or iron more or less. also, we have a deering giant without a seat, and with a 5 ft sickle bar. would like to sell when we have a idea of value. we also have a jd 191 plow. hubby likes the plow so it wont be for sale. have some manuals one on jd casterwheel no. 5 power mower. are manuals worth anything? also other assorted old equipment, seats, wheels, rustic parts from drills, cultivators, planters, etc. we would just like some ideas to ask for sale or if there is a market.

aggirl31,

In my area the #7's and the #9 go for around the same money. Some folks like the #7 more than the #9 and some folks like the #9 more than the #7. Keep in mind that the prices I gave was for ones that were field ready here in my area of Wisconsin.

Tires for the mower on rubber run $148 each new. I can't remember off the top of my head what I had to give for the tubes or freight for the #9 I'm working on now but I know the total price was more than I gave for the entire mower. Then again I didn't buy it to sell. It's for my collection.

For the one with rubber tires, if the Amish have an extra set of iron wheels to put on it they may still buy it. The rubber wheel ones are harder to come by but you have to find a collector willing to give the price you want.

For the price of origional manuals and equipment parts I would check out e-bay and see what they are going for there. I know in my area dump rake wheels that are in decent shape go for $30 to $50 each on auctions.

My 2 bits worth,

Old Iron
