I have an old farm implement that I'm wondering if it is worth anything. It's five foot wide and looks like a lawn roller with a third of it cut out with a blade on a flat side. I believe they used it for leveling or moving soil. What you do is scrape the soil in the barrel, when full, pull a spring loaded lever and back up to hold the soil then lock in place again. Take it somewhere to be dumped, release the latch and it will roll over to dump the load. I don't know what you would call it, but it was manufactured by Sears & Roebuck Co. The metal tag is still in place. The Model No. is 171 500 and the Serial No. is 6538. Please help identify what it is and if it is worth saving or I will turn it into a lawn roller. Thanks

Look in Gallery at Implement Photes. Under, 1940s John Deere No. 4 Rotary Farm Scraper. I also have a Sears Rotary Scraper it's 5ft. They came before box scrapers.

What u have is a tumble bug. this machine is used for leveing dirt> when the bucket is full u pull the trip on it and the bucket turns over and the dirt falls out. dont make it into a lawn roller because these machines go hogh at sales in missouri.
