Update info on 542. First trial run, my homeplace (very little grass for test subject)!

Cut Tuesday morning - got the best rain (almost an inch) of the summer about mid-day!!

Raked and baled yesterday (8/31/02)

First 2 bales tied! then the pressure release of a packed bale chute popped the next 4-5 till I got everything 'equalized'. Had some 'very' uneven windrows and big piles. Had a couple of bales pop coming out of the choke load piles.

She ties probably as good as going to, until I get new tongues for the bill hooks...they are extremely worn, ran out of adjustment to tighten them. Still will not completely pull the loop through, but they will hold.

Total of 60 bales, 5 misties on the get go, due to knotter adjustments not right from tear down and put back together. 2 - 3 misties from uneven feed/windrows/op error. The last 40 -45 tied without a miss..... .then I was out of baleable grass.

Moving to a bigger pasture tomorrow, will know by weeks' end how she does when there is some grass to deal with.

A couple more pictures.

Garry
