Hay implements

Hi all,

As part of a package deal. I now am the owner of some hay related implements I may try to use or try to sell if they have much value.

The two items I can detail right now are a New Holland 66 baler w/o the engine that was in use until last year (the gentlemen was seling off all his equipment that was usd on his 5-10 acres). Seems to be in decent shape. From what he says, it should just need a couple shear pins and either the engine or the PTO shaft to run it off a tractor.

The other item it a McCormick Deering #7 mower that is missing the seat. All else at first glance seems to be there, but I plan to get a manual to make sure.

There are 2 other items, one item sort of like a disc but not that I cannot recall the name of right now and a hay rake probably near the same vintage as the mower and also on steel wheels.

If anyone has any comments about the posible value of these in present shape (or in fully working order) I would appreciate it. If I were to play with implements much, I might prefer to find an old corn planter to pull behind my F-20's. Bt I have 2-3 acres of former hay/now weeds I could play with and perhaps go fill hay next year. I would probably prefer to sell though if they have value, as I also need a cheap pull tye bush hog.

Thanks,

Tony

I am in Upper Michigan and here if you can get more then 100 for the 66,20 for the mower(toput in a yard) and about 10-15 bucks for the rake you are doing good,, I have bought several of those old pieces of equipment over the years and they range from free to really cheap,,I had a guy give me all his hay equipment, consisting of a case 555 haybine, 2 NH 66 balers w/motors, a pull type combine and a self drive massey combine and some old mowers,,, there is just too much of that old stuff laying around here for the taking, but elsewhere in the country the old stuff brings good money,,,Just my opinion....Jim

If I understand you correctly, the NH 66 baler is missing the engine or the PTO shaft? It will cost you more to replace these items than the baler is worth. If you are lucky, you may be able to find another old baler cheap, that you can rob parts from.
